Self-limiting statements are extremely harmful. They not only increase your stress in response to a situation but paralyze you from finding solutions to the problem. Replace these thoughts with questions instead. This way, you’ll be in the right frame of mind for finding ways to solve the problem. Asking yourself, “How can I win this case?” or “What can I do to get that client?” is much more empowering, isn’t it?
2. Feed your mind. Choose to look for good things to focus your thinking on. Focus your attention on positive, uplifting,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and encouraging words to say to yourself. For example: “I don’t have to finish everything in my task list today” or “Dealing with this client will make me a more patient person.” Choose to look for the silver lining.

12. Modify the Golden Rule. We are creatures of habit. It’s no wonder how easily we can fall into patterns of self destructive thoughts and behavior. Instead of continuing to be your own worst critic, teach yourself to be your best support. Be respectful to yourself and treat yourself with the same compassion and kindness that you would treat others around you. Don’t say anything to yourself that you wouldn’t want another person to say to you.
4. Observe your self-talk. Try to relate to your thoughts as scenes in a movie theater screen. By becoming an observer of your thoughts and self-talk, you are better able to assess their validity or lack thereof in each thought or thinking pattern. You will reach a point where you do this without realizing it and building your positive self-talk will actually become second nature.

When you realize the enormous power that thoughts have over your actions and view of life, you should make a decision to stop living your life with self-imposed limitations. No these plants are grown here. This is the real deal. I’m on a quest for real. Alice Waters. Hand-written receipts. I guess it’s the antidote to too many hours spent in front of a computer. But I think that particular quest is way bigger than me. It’s why Etsy thrives, deliciously using modern technology to take creators and customers back to a hand-crafted world. People love being connected to the producers of the handcrafts Etsy sells. We seek those connections in more and more of our life experiences. It’s part of the human condition–everywhere. But especially needed in modern, First World places. Places where we have too much information. Too much choice. Not enough that is simple, real and human-scale. I’m crazy about Morning Glories (the plant, not the firework). I’ve been trawling the local garden centers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], eagerly awaiting their appearance among the colorful sea of annuals. But one Boston garden center employee told me, “Oh they won’t be here until about Memorial Day. They’re so tender, they don’t even like a breeze.”
Alas, someone planted these without fully understanding the need for labels. I have no idea what color they are,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so I can’t in good conscience sell them to you. Buy if you buy a pack of seeds from that rack over there, you’ll be all set.
I guess because her plants come with standard plastic “care and planting-conditions” labels, and her seeds are grown in ordinary manufactured flats, I just assumed they came from “somewhere else.” Despite the acres of greenhouses on her property, it was outside my imagination’s scope to see the obvious. I lumped her in with the sadly neglected plants I saw at Home Depot two weeks ago.

Worry is an imagined state of that which has not happened. It’s only real in the mind. But the emotions of worry are real enough, and they wreak all sorts of havoc on your mind, body, and spirit. Worry is literally an extension of fear. Fear is one of the most destructive of all emotions, being even more potent than anger and hatred.
This is one of the greatest secrets to life. We get to choose our thoughts. We do not have to choose to suffer by worrying. And by consciously choosing our thoughts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we get to create whatever reality we want. It all begins when we stop allowing our minds to wander off without us.
What was I just thinking?
What was I just hearing?
What was I just seeing?
3. Rewind. There’s also your spiritual connection to consider. We always have a spiritual connection to Source, but trapped negative emotions and subconscious beliefs, or programs, get in the way and cause blockages which make us feel disconnected from our spiritual source. When we worry, we are completely out of touch with who and what we truly are. Worry is a part of the ego mind. It’s there to strengthen the ego and make the ego feel safe. Our Spirit Mind, on the other hand, is there to guide and direct us to be happy in our lives, to help us experience joy, appreciation, love, gratitude, forgiveness, and to reach enlightenment. Our Spirit Mind is here to teach us who and what we really are, and how to tune into the joy of it, how to increase our awareness and intuition, and open up our most extraordinary gifts. Every time we worry, we disconnect ourselves from our true joy. And it doesn’t have to be this way. We do not have to choose to suffer by choosing to worry.
Why do we worry about things we can’t control then? Why do we put ourselves through this suffering? And it’s simply not true.
